Tagging allows you to set your own keywords that act as identifiers for grouping updates to specific social networks. 

Tagging is a more sophisticated and detailed way of organizing your updates and where they go. 

You may only need to use the Group function (which offers 3 categories to divide you social networks into: Home, Friend, and Colleague) to stay organized with who sees what, or you may prefer the deeper customization that Tagging allows.

How to Group by Tag

Access your Settings page where you should have already configured a few social networks.

Underneath the logo of each network, you should notice a text field. Here you can insert your own keywords, which will act as a way to group your updates to whichever network you entered them under and organize your outgoing updates!

Say you entered the word "fun" underneath MySpace and Facebook for example. By starting you next update with #fun in the status box, that message would only go to your MySpace and Facebook profiles. To send by tag via email, you would place #fun at the beginning of the email body, the same is for IM gateway, SMS gateway and all other tools.
